Book 2

You were a normal kid once with a normal life and a normal family.
Then things changed. There was a moment when your life
took a sudden turn and you stopped being a normal kid.
You became a headline, a statistic,
a picture on the grocery store window.
A warning for other children.

Maybe you were taken, stolen by a monster,
or maybe you simply disappeared.

Whatever happened, at that moment,
you became one of the missing.

Every child has a story.

What’s yours?

In development.

Looks great already. I’m waiting. 🙂

  2. Chrissy says:

Wow this looks… Kinda creepy yet massively awesome

And I can’t thank you enough for suggesting “Thief of Always”
I read that book as a kid and as I got older I kind of forgot about it.
I just picked it up again!

  3. Jason says:

Earlier posts at the old site layout didn’t make this as clear as I’d have hoped, so just to ask: is this the first Campfire Tales book or is it the first rules supplement? If they are different, is there any hope we’ll be able to buy them in the same order close to release? Because that is probably what I’m going to do (shipping and all) and I’d hate to skew your sales figures because of a delayed purchase.

  4. AMONG THE MISSING will be the first print supplement/world expansion for the game. Campfire Tales is a PDF-only series of LFNE episodes.

  5. Jason says:

    Awesome, thanks.

  6. Wow; this looks amazing. I know that the core of Little Fears has some darker elements to it, but Among the Missing looks like it could take us a step closer to the atmosphere of the original edition. That is to say, there are dark places in our world, things we don’t want to really think about. Among the Missing looks like it will make us look directly into some of these places… and I can’t wait!

Please keep up the good work!

  8. @Jane
Thank you! (And I appreciate your patience.)

    @Chrissy
You’re welcome! Thief of Always is a great book and holds up to repeated readings.

    @Kirkimus
Thank you! I hope the book doesn’t disappoint.

  9. Jaysha Santos says:

I’m sooo excited, waiting for this to release. (: I just paid for my copy of NE; I wanted it for a long time, but as I’d been laid off, I’d had to wait. No more waiting! (well, technically, yes, but no more waiting to buy it!)

Among the Missing sounds like one of the things I try to tap in to when I run LF campaigns– those tiny, little fears that we had as a kid, whether it was that we needed to pull the blanket over our heads so the boogeyman couldn’t get us or losing our parents in a grocery store or mall and inflating it into a very real, very scary situation.

Keep up the fantastic work, Jason! I’m REALLY looking forward to your newest installments. (:

  10. I hope you enjoy the game!

Among the Missing is already pretty creepy and I have a lot more planned. I’m looking forward to it.

I hope you get a chance to check out some of the Campfire Tales as well. I’ll be exploring a range of story types through that series as well.

  11. Jaysha Santos says:

I actually bought Fall Harvest and Beggar’s Night on Drive Thru RPG a couple nights ago. (:
I’ve invited a few friends over to my place for the right feel for Fall Harvest (I live on horse property in a really country-type area of Las Vegas). I’ve had my party play their own future children so that they’d have an immediate attachment, but I think they’ll be playing in on a field trip for Fall Harvest. <3

I'm thinking of using Beggar's Night for a Christmas special (our family's a little topsy turvey, our CHRISTMAS is Halloween. :P) for my party.

Your game's gotten me a fine reputation among my GM friends. (: They call me Atrox, the latin name for "Horror" these days. They tell me they don't play many d6 systems other than the ones I run, and I run LF the most. <3

  12. Jane says:

    Hey there,

I bought Fall Harvest ab Beggars’s Night aswell.
These are great Scenario. I appreciate your hart work and I’m already waiting for the next one. 🙂

  13. @Jaysha
That sounds great! And glad to hear your group is digging the game and that LFNE has earned you a nickname. 😉

    @Jane
Thank you! The Campfire Tales series has been a lot of fun. I have some plans for future episodes that I think folks will enjoy and that will really show off some of the stuff you can do with LFNE.

  14. Jane says:

You know it. I’m waiting. xD
But let’s talk about something else.
Will there be a campign someday? A hole lot of stories put together to something even greater?
    I’d like that.

  15. I’ve thought about doing a series of interlocking episodes. I haven’t been inspired yet to pursue it. I don’t think I’ve found the right story. But I work on my episode-writing with every new Campfire Tales release. Maybe one day I’ll be confident enough to release an epic.

  16. Stan says:

I was a pre-orderer and have yet to play your game. I moved out in the middle of the sticks and no one out here plays games but I’m planning on moving to Sao Paulo Brazil for a while, third largest city in the world, so maybe I can find a group there. I’ve seen D&D books for sale there and they even have their own Brazilian RPG that looks like fantasy anime so I know there are role-players I just need to find them.

Are your books translated into Portuguese by any chance? If not and I find people to play with in Brazil I’ll hook you up with someone to translate it for you. I would but Portuguese is a second language for me and I don’t know how well of a job I’d do.

  17. I’ve had bites over the years from Brazil-based publishers interested in doing a Portuguese translation but nothing’s ever moved on it. I’d love to see Little Fears Nightmare Edition in as many languages as possible.

  18. Régis says:

You can really find people to play here, and by here, I mean Brazil, not São Paulo, I’m not from there, I’m from Varginha(no Et’s jokes please, and yes, I was born already, I was 10 at the date). But thing is a great deal of people here doesn’t speak English, and being so, it’s hard for them to play.

Maybe I can help out with the translation, even thought, I’m not a publisher, maybe put it on a PDF? But will take some time, lots of pages to do so.

And Jason, you did a great job, creating Little Fears.

  19. Oliver Summers says:

Among the missing sounds great I really cant wait to see what the sourcebook will cover.

Are there still plans for the Closetland Sourcebook advertised in the back of the Corebook?

  20. @Régis
It would take some time, and I don’t have the rights to license the art for translation which would also be an issue.

Thank you for the compliment! I hope to keep building Little Fears Nightmare Edition with every release.

  21. @Oliver
Still plans, yes! Not sure if it will be Book 3 or 4 but I want to do Behind the Door, certainly.

Speaking of back-of-the-book ads, the fiction collection was licensed to another publisher, but I can’t say who just yet.

  22. Chrissy says:

I so can’t wait for this book to come out. I wish I could do a pre-order.
Is this book going to be a .pdf release or a print release or both? Is there going to be a deal for getting both of them?

I ran my 1st little fears game last month. I’m of the mind it went pretty well, since my players started physically acting out certain things about 1/4 ways thru the session(like everyone pulling up their shirts to cover their noses, making light sabre sound effects and waving the 2 liter bottle of soda around, etc)

There’s a guy in my Calculus class who read thru the rules book before class. He was taken in! After class he was making a character.

The “Longest Night of your Life” campfire tale should be a great way to see if he works with the group. I can use that as part of the real story arc I’m running or just a 1 shot side thing.

And I am so happy with the purchase of the 3 campfire tales. I wasn’t expecting to cry tho. Jason, you are such a masterful story crafter. Some are super scary, and some just pull at your heart.

  23. Wow. Thank you for the compliments, Chrissy. I tried to do something different with Campfire Tales #3 and I’m really happy folks have responded to it. Thank you again. Hearing things like that motivate me to keep doing and keep getting better.

Book 2 will be print and PDF, and I will do a pre-order similar to what I did with the corebook.

  24. This blog was… how do you say it? Relevant!! Finally I’ve found something which helped me.

    Appreciate it!
